About Tri-Pak
The year was 1984 and back in Sweden leaded fuel had been questioned for a while. Lead is a heavy metal with great impact of the environment. Also, more modern cars did not take as much harm from fuels without the octane boosting and lubricating effects of lead. The idea was born to create an additive which contributed with those positive effects but in a much more environmentally friendly way.
Tri-Pak:s founder, Hasse, is known in his hometown Rättvik as a sharp innovator and for always striving for perfection. When he tested the formula that were supposed to substitute the lead he noticed that the engines he tested it on ran much smoother and had somewhat lower emissions than before he added his liquified innovation. With the assistance of the Swedish state innovation fund he kept improving the mixture the following years.

By pure curiosity and in constant pursuit of improvements he kept developing the additive to an even more effective combustion with higher performance and reduced emissions as a result. When tested more thoroughly the additive showed, as expected, that it dissolved deposits and carbon build-up and that it also provided the fuel system with lubrication. Furthermore, it contributed to a smoother operation, easier cold starts and prevented pinging and knocking in the engine.
In laboratory testing fuels with added Tri-Pak has shown a higher-octane rating and maintained quality over longer periods of time than without. The maintained quality is a verry appreciated attribute in recreational vehicles that can be left sitting for periods of times.
Just a few years later Hasse could once again not resist experimenting. He had developed a complete additive for petrol, now, it was time to develop something with similar effects but for diesel.
The problems with Diesel and storing diesel is however a bit different from petrol. In addition to making the combustion more complete and lubricate the rubber- and moving parts he needed to prevent growth of algae’s and other microorganisms (Diesel bacterias). This had to be done while retaining the effects such as easier cold starts and smoother engine operation. This is something you can ask any Tri-Pak user, he succeeded!
In the last few years problems with EGR-systems and blocked diesel particulate filters (DPF) has emerged as more and more common problems. These problems are completely remedied with the help of our additive according to many of our users. This is of course true, a more complete combustion leads to reduced emissions and a reduced amount of soot particles which means much fewer of these get stuck in your DPF and EGR-system which all modern cars have.
Since 2019 there has been additions to the management team and a lot of effort has gone in to the brand and the marketing of it.

The final formula, which is the same today, was of course Cetane-boosting and in the same way as the Petrol Booster lubricating for both the engine and the fuel system.

Since 2007 the company is run by Anders Skommar Hansson whom according to tradition fabricates Tri-Pak in Insjön, Dalarna, Sweden. With complete control over the delicate mixing process, according to the secret recipe followed with careful precision, Tri-Pak and our fuel additive is still industry leading and keeps making ground all over Europe and Asia.
